❱ Barowyn is a 1.20.1 modded Minecraft server with a custom modpack designed for the Fabric modloader.
❱ In total, the modpack contains more than 150 mods ranging from small utilitied and tweaks to larger, content-heavy mods
How was the modpack designed?
❱ The modpack was designed with one key principle in mind: internal consistency.
❱ To this end, the modpack includes a custom datapack that features more than 2000 changes to recipes and loot tables.
❱ The datapack ensures, for example, that similar items across different mods use similar crafting recipes, or that new crafting processes offered by a mod like Create can be integrated with new blocks from other mods.
How do I learn the modpack?
❱ The modpack includes a guidebook containing information on the major changes and mods in the pack, and is designed as a helpful resource both for players who are new to modded Minecraft and for those new to the pack.

Installation Instructions
First, you will need to install a Minecraft launcher to play the game. While you can use the default one from minecraft.net, a better option is to use a third-party launcher like MultiMC.
Installing Java
By default, you most likely do not have the correct version of java installed. Visit this website and select Java 17 and your operating system to download the JDK.
Extract the files you just downloaded and place them somewhere safe (this may take a moment).
Installing MultiMC
Download the version appropriate for your computer from the MultiMC website.
Extract the files you downloaded and place them wherever you'd like (for example: a "Games" folder)
Locate the application file "MultiMC.exe", right-click on it, and create a shortcut.
Open MultiMC, go to Profiles in the top-right corner, and select "Manage Accounts". On the right side, select "Add Microsoft" and follow the instructions to link your Microsoft account.
Setting up Java
Back in the Settings menu, select the Java tab on the left side.
Allocating RAM
In the fields titled "Minimum/Maximum memory allocation", this is where you set the amount of RAM that Minecraft will be allowed to use. Depending on how much RAM your system has available, you will want to set this to anywhere between 6GB (6144 MiB) - 12GB (12288 MiB)
Make sure to set the two fields to the same amount, otherwise you may run into issues.
In the field titled "Java path", select the button that says "..." and navigate to where you extracted the Java files earlier. In this folder, navigate to bin > javaw.exe and click "Open
In the field titled "JVM Arguments", go to this link and copy-paste the information posted there.
You are now set up to run Minecraft! Select the next dropdown and follow the instructions there to set up your Vault Hunters instance.
Note: While you can play from any Minecraft client, I recommend using a third-party launcher for convenience. The instructions here are given for MultiMC, but you can feel free to use whichever launcher you prefer.
Download the modpack files, "Barowyn-Client-Files.zip".
If you are using the MultiMC launcher:
Click "Add Instance" in the upper-right corner. On the left side, select "Import from zip"
Select the files you just downloaded, set a name for the instance (optional), and you are ready to go!
If you are using another launcher:
Create a new 1.20.1 Minecraft instance.
Either using your launcher, or from the Fabric download page, download and install Fabric version 0.14.24
Unzip the files you downloaded earlier and copy the files found in Barowyn > .minecraft into your Minecraft folder. You are now ready to play!
Start Minecraft and select "Multiplayer". If this is your first time opening the instance, you will be prompted to accept the notice. Click "Add Server" and use whatever name you like. In the "Server Address" field, enter barowyn.scarletrealms.com
